7 CAN-IO pan-Canadian Interoperability
The pan-Canadian Interoperability domain is created to test national integration profile opportunities for Canada or national extensions to the international profiles from IHE International. At present time, with marked focus on secure sharing of Patient Summaries, Canada has been working on a number of new FHIR APIs for data exchange across a broader eco-system. One such profile developed in support of the Patient Summary project (PS-CA) is a so called Canadian FHIR Exchange specification. The approach will be tested out in upcoming Projectathons to elevate its maturity level towards submission to the technical committee for consideration as a future, international FHIR exchange profile. Other such national profiles might be prepared for incubation in this domain.

1 ITI IT-Infrastructure
The IT Infrastructure Domain supplies infrastructure for sharing healthcare information. An infrastructure interoperability component represents a common IT function that is used as a building block for a variety of use cases... a necessary ingredient, but rarely visible to the end user!! These components may be embedded in an application, but are often deployed as a shared resource within a RHIO or Health Information Exchange.

8 PCC Patient Care Coordination
IHE Patient Care Coordination (PCC) domain was established in July 2005 to deal with integration issues that cross providers, patient problems or time. It deals with general clinical care aspects such as document exchange, order processing, and coordination with other specialty domains. PCC also addresses workflows that are common to multiple specialty areas and the integration needs of specialty areas that do not have a separate domain within IHE.

9 QRPH Quality, Research and Public Health
IHE Quality, Research and Public Health Domain (QRPH) addresses the infrastructure necessary to share information relevant to quality improvement in electronic patient care and health care records.
